7 MOBILE MARKETING STATISTICS THAT WILL SURPRISE YOU

Admin • July 19, 2018

The move to mobile has come swift and sudden in recent years, with around 5 billion people currently using mobile phones around the world. This has forced companies to rethink their marketing and business strategies in order to keep up with current trends. Whether your app business opportunity focuses on the tourism sector or the eCommerce industry, here are the important stats you should know.

Mobile ad budget
It may surprise you to hear that in 2016, the average company dedicated 51% of its digital marketing budget to mobile advertising. This figure is set to increase even further to around 70% by the end of 2018. This illustrates just how invested more industries are becoming in the mobile movement.

Annoying mobile ads
In a study carried out on mobile users, it was found that the most annoying adverts are ones which pop up and cover the entire screen. If you’re hoping to intrude as little as possible, consider using text-based ads which were found to be the least annoying.

Seamless user experience
The fact that 61% of mobile users would rather visit a competitor’s site than use one that is slow to load or presents other problems, shows how important it is to create a smooth and structured experience across all platforms.

No measurements
Many companies are failing to maximise conversions and increase engagement by not tracking mobile leads. In fact, only 40% of companies are measuring the return on investment generated by their mobile platforms. This is a very important factor to consider if you’re trying to run a successful app business.

Mobile loading times
In the same vein, it is vital that you streamline your mobile website and reduce loading times. Research has shown that sites that load in under five seconds experience 25% more ad visibility and their average session times are around 70% longer.

Mobile app conversion
Although it’s important to have a responsive website that caters to mobile users, research has shown that users are three times more likely to be converted when using an app as opposed to a mobile website.

72 hour curse
It is a known fact that within the first three days of downloading your app, the majority of users will stop using it. To be specific, 77% of daily average users will never use your app after the first time and you will lose 95% of users within the first 90 days after installation.
